Erezha south is the first kara of chettikulangara, and the people of Erezha south brings the largest kettukazcha at chettikulangara.The dancing 'lady dolls'attached to the prabhada of this kuthira is a speciality tho the kara.This is the first kuthira enter the field , the people of this kara brings the Mudi to the temple on the first day of Ethirelppu.
The people from 13 sub karas of chettikulangara will arrange for the processions one each for each kara.Generally it remains the same every year and accroding to them it will be 6 big chariots 5 smaller ones, 1 big idol of Bheema & another one of Hanuman. A small one of Panchali will always be there with Hanuman.
During the evening hours people from each area [ kara ] will pull the chariots from the construction sites to the temple.

The preperation for kumbha bharani starts 7 days before the actual day and incidentally that day will be the shivaratri.People who had pledged for Kuthiyottam will start training their children for the offering on that day .All these 7 days these peoples will host public get together and arrange food for them.These children will be taught a special dance steps called Kuthiyottam chuvadukal.
The family heads of the region , decided to take it as their duty and performed 12 days long ' bhajan' to please the goddesses, Kodungallur bhagavathy .It is believed that Devi gave them ' swapna darasanam' next day , they returned to Chettikulangara with a sacred sword given by the Velichappadu of kodungallur temple and started civil works of the temple.
